Benjamin Oevering, Principal of Double Diamond Companies, brings two decades of experience in the real estate industry. With a strong track record in property growth, management, and sales in the Capital Region, he has successfully overseen a diverse portfolio of properties and a management company responsible for over 350 units.
Previously, Mr. Oevering served as Controller and Vice President of Asset Management at one of the Capital Region's largest real estate developers. In this role, he directed accounting, finance, human resources, and risk management functions for the organization. He also provided direct oversight of both the Self-Storage and Multi-Family Assets. As a key member of the leadership team, Mr. Oevering was responsible for managing NOI and operations at Class A Institutional properties, as well as handling bank financing and financial management for construction projects. Under his leadership, the properties consistently achieved high occupancy rates while maintaining strong operating margins.
Ben's extensive experience covers various aspects of real estate, including involvement in new development projects, renovations, solar developments, negotiation of PILOT agreements, and collaboration with town boards. Prior to his role as Vice President, he spent a decade in Commercial Banking, specializing in commercial real estate. During this time, he managed nearly $1 billion in permanent and construction financing, fostering client relationships and effectively managing financial risks. Additionally, Mr. Oevering owns and operates Double Diamond Estates, a reputable real estate brokerage firm.
Mr. Oevering holds a Master's in Business Administration from the College of Saint Rose and an Undergraduate Degree from the State University at Albany. He actively contributes to various organizations, including the Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation Advisory Board, the Schoharie Town Board, the Schoharie County IDA, and the Capital Region Community Loan Fund. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was honored as part of the Albany Business Review's 40 under 40 class of 2020. With his comprehensive expertise, Mr. Oevering ensures efficient operations and brings valuable insights to the real estate industry.
